Background
This project is a redesign of the official Premier League mobile app for iOS.

The main goal of the redesign was to highlight the Premier League's already strong branding that reminds fans why football is more than a game.

Below is the sitemap for the redesigned Premier League app.

I chose to keep the general structure of the live app intact, but made some minor changes to improve the flow according to my personal experiences with the app.

Features
Fantasy Tab
Users can use this tab to participate in Fantasy Premier League, or FPL for short. Millions of players join in every season to craft their perfect teams and compete against one another in a very tactical game.

The current version of the FPL functions in the Premier League App has minor informational architecture problems that I prioritized during the design process.

I wanted to preserve the analytical side of the game and enhance its visuals to heighten the emotional experience behind the game.

Retrospective
While this project wasn't as in depth as the previous UX/UI case studies I have done (Vela, Heights), this was personally the most fun for me yet. As a passionate Premier League fan myself, the official Premier League app is one I use very frequently, so I was able to input my own experiences into crafting the designs this time around.

As I stated in the introduction, I wanted to make more usage of the strong branding of the Premier League and the imagery that gets fans reminiscing about the excitement of football. I personally feel that I was successful in doing so, with the help of some competitive analyses. Two major sources of inspiration were from SofaScore, a sports update app, and the Xbox mobile app. The latter definitely helped me achieve a balance of text and imagery that would not be overbearing one way or another.

This was also the first time where I designed an app with a dark background in mind from the get-go. With dark mode still being a relatively new trend in the grand scheme of UX, it is regarded as trickier than light mode.

In my next project, I would like to find more elegant solutions to handling large quantity of information in a list format. While I am satisfied with the way I laid out information this time around, it did take me a few attempts to find the right balance between densityand legibility.
